Test Prep Recommendations

I am frequently asked for recommendations for test prep. I only recommend what I have used and do not receive any funds for recommendations  & resources listed on my website. 

• Submit your application on the bhec.texas.gov website. (Current wait time reported as 48-72 hours.) 
• Pay your testing fee (Wait 24-72 Hours for payment to process.) 
• Access official test registration site and pick your preferred  location, date, & time.  
• Pay for the official practice test available on test registration website. I recommend you take it two to three weeks before your actual test date. You will have access for 30 days to review the questions.
• On the day of the test you will receive a pass or fail result.  
• If you fail, you will receive a print out of testing areas and how you did in each competency.
• If you pass, your results will be forwarded to the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners for verification. 
• Once verified (May take 2 weeks) updates will be made & you will be listed as a Licensed Social Worker on their website! :)

• Do not study the day before the exam. You need to relax and practice self-care.
• Only flag questions you are unsure about.
• DO NOT flag questions you do not know...do your best and move on.
• When you finish your exam ONLY review flagged questions DO NOT review the entire test!!!
